Lab2Market Validate Foundations is an online program that helps you explore entrepreneurship and the potential of transforming your academic research into a world-changing business.
Are you interested in exploring the market viability of your research? As a researcher, you may be considering an alternative career path beyond academia. With Lab2Market Validate Foundations, you’ll explore the value of entrepreneurial thinking and determine if you have a passion for business.Â
About this program
This program is run as an intensive, virtual workshop and is considered a precursor to the more comprehensive Lab2Market Validate program.Â
Participants come with their expertise and an idea for their venture, or sometimes an established young venture. Participants will explore the value of entrepreneurial thinking as a means of developing their careers and advancing their research into ideas with impact, whether it is scientific, economic, social, cultural, or environmental.Â
Our aim is to transform Canada’s researchers into innovation leaders and entrepreneurs. We look for the brightest minds and help them bridge the knowledge, skills, and resource gap to bring their research to market.
Eligibility
Lab2Market Validate Foundations is offered free of cost and is open to any researcher (graduate students, Ph.D., post docs, and faculty) in Atlantic Canada interested in learning about the steps needed to commercialize research and whether entrepreneurship is a path they can or should pursue.Â

Program Duration
This program is offered over three-days and runs for five hours each day, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. AT.Â

Program Dates: August 12th, 14th, and 16th from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (Atlantic Time)/9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (Eastern Time)
