Growth is what every student entrepreneur seeks: growth in ideas, customers, and impact. It is also what defined this past year at Dal Innovates.

We are pleased to share the Dal Innovates 2025-26 Annual Report, highlighting the strength of our region’s innovation ecosystem, including innovation sandboxes, entrepreneurial education programming, prototyping supports, and venture development opportunities.

Dal Innovates 2025-26 Highlights:

  • Delivered more than 500 events in partnership with 30+ organizations, engaging over 11,000 students interested in expanding their networks and exploring innovation in agriculture, computer science, engineering, health, and science.
  • Piloted AI2Market, helping students transform ideas into scalable, AI-driven solutions from day one.
  • Welcomed eight institutions to join Dal Innovates under a refreshed Campus2Market brand across Atlantic Canada.
  • Continued to expand Lab2Market, with more than 50 universities, colleges, and institutions now offering programming, making it Canada’s largest platform in research commercialization training
  • Supported 466 post-secondary students and recent grads through entrepreneurship and innovation programs designed to help participants grow at their own pace.
  • Supported the growth of 66 ventures through the Emera ideaHUB that generated 139 new jobs, while the Creative Destruction Lab-Atlantic supported 56 companies that generated more than $830 million in equity value creation.

The report also showcases a few of the inspiring student entrepreneurs who are tackling global challenges:

  • Catherine Evans, founder of Advanced Climate Monitoring Inc., is developing predictive technology to help communities monitor harmful algal blooms.
  • Rudransh Goyal, creator of VisAble, is developing AI-powered wearable technology designed to support individuals who are blind or visually impaired.
  • Sheheryar Khan, founder of Alaagi Inc., is creating sustainable seaweed-based bioplastics to help reduce plastic waste in food packaging.
