Tapajyoti “Tukan” Das is the CEO and Co-Founder of Gia, a Halifax-based AI startup building a growth platform for consultants and professional service providers. His founder journey began in Halifax after moving from Calcutta to study computer science at Dalhousie University, where he started building the technical foundation that would later shape his work in AI, product development, and entrepreneurship.
Before Gia, Tukan co-founded LeadSift, a venture-backed sales intelligence company that used text mining, natural language processing, and public web data to help B2B companies identify buying intent. LeadSift was later acquired by Foundry in 2021, giving him firsthand experience building, pivoting, scaling, and exiting a technology company. Today, through Gia, Tukan continues to focus on practical AI tools that help knowledge-based businesses grow more efficiently. He brings founders a grounded perspective on customer discovery, product-market fit, AI commercialization, and the realities of turning technical ideas into market-ready companies.
