Talis Apud-Martinez

Associate Director, Dalhousie Emera ideaHUB

Talis Apud-Martinez has spent the past two decades co-founding and managing community-based social enterprises focused on youth leadership, technology, and education in both the U.S. and Mexico. She is currently the Associate Director at ideaHUB, an incubator at Dalhousie University supporting startups developing physical products for a healthier world. She also volunteers with Crew for All, a tech nonprofit she co-founded and managed for nearly a decade.

Talis holds a degree in Sociology from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master’s in Innovation and Entrepreneurship from Tecnológico de Monterrey. While completing her master’s, she qualified for the 2008 Olympics, representing Mexico in the 3,000m steeplechase.

Now based in Nova Scotia, she enjoys cycling, late-night soccer, and bringing friends and neighbors together over homemade tacos.
