Frank Rudzicz is a Professor in the Faculty of Computer Science at Dalhousie University, where he holds the Killam Memorial Chair and serves as Director of the Atlantic AI Institute. His work focuses on machine learning, natural language processing, speech technologies, explainable AI, and responsible AI, with a strong emphasis on real-world applications in healthcare and human-centred technology.
Frank completed his PhD in Computer Science at the University of Toronto and his Master’s in Electrical and Computer Engineering at McGill University. Alongside his academic work, he has co-founded several AI companies, including WinterLight Labs, a health-focused AI company later acquired by Cambridge Cognition. Frank brings founders a valuable mix of research depth, commercialization experience, and practical insight into building AI systems that can create meaningful real-world impact.
