The Collide Discover program is designed to give students a taste of the skills needed to be an entrepreneur or innovator.
Collide Discover is a program designed to empower students across faculties at the beginning of their entrepreneurial and innovation journey, providing them with the confidence and knowledge necessary to propel their big ideas forward.
Throughout the multi-week extracurricular program, participants delve into an introduction to entrepreneurship and innovation concepts, learn to identify and match problems with solutions, articulate their business’s value proposition, grasp the fundamentals of human-centered design, and much more.
New this winter we also have a specialized offering —Collide Discover Social Innovation. This is designed to foster awareness of social innovation and nurture an entrepreneurial mindset among students, enabling them to serve as catalysts for positive change in their communities and beyond.
Through an engaging curriculum, participants gain the knowledge, skills, and tools essential for addressing pressing social challenges and crafting sustainable, impactful solutions.
Collide Discover operates twice a year—once in the fall and once in the winter. The fall program serves as an introduction, while the winter sessions delve deeper into topics surrounding entrepreneurship and innovation. Attendance in the fall is not mandatory for participation in the winter cohort.
Please note that, between sessions, participants may be assigned up to three hours of take-home content.
Collide Discover Social Innovation sessions will take place on Thursday evenings from January 25, 2024, to March 15, 2024, from 4:00 P.M. to 5:30 P.M. All sessions will be held in person in Room 2600 of the Killam Library at Dalhousie University.
Please note that the week of February 19th is designated as Reading Week, and therefore, there will be no programming during that week.
