SUMMARY:IGNITING Young Women in Business Gala
DESCRIPTION:Join us Tuesday\, April 4 for an evening of networking with young women in business across Northern Nova Scotia! The gala provides a unique opportunity for women studying business to connect with established women-identifying entrepreneurs and change makers in our community. \nDinner will be provided. \n**There will be a 1-hour marketing workshop prior to the event for post secondary students only (not open to community members)** \nAbout the workshop facilitator: \nKatelyn Roy is the Marketing and Engagement Manager for the Town of New Glasgow. She collaborates with all municipal departments to implement strategic communications on behalf of the Town. Her love of marketing comes from a lifelong passion for storytelling and interest in communicating opportunities in rural Nova Scotia. Katelyn has a Bachelor of Public Relations degree with minors in Marketing and Communication Technology from Mount Saint Vincent University. Along with Municipal Government\, Katelyn has marketing/communications experience in a variety of sectors such as life sciences\, federal government\, the arts\, and educational software. \nAbout the speakers: \nAlicia Simms is the Founder and CEO of Rolling Sea Tattooery\, Truro Buzz Media and Promotions\, and Secret Nova Scotia. Originally from Mount Pearl\, Newfoundland\, Alicia moved to Truro\, Nova Scotia in 2014 and fell in love with her local community. An award-winning tattooer of 15.5 years\, Alicia opened her first business\, Rolling Sea Tattooery in the heart of downtown Truro. \nSamantha Fagan (Sam) is 20 years old and grew up in Sylvester\, Nova Scotia. During high school\, Sam started to fall in love with the idea of becoming an entrepreneur and running her own business someday. After graduating from Northumberland Regional High School\, Sam applied to the Business Administration program at NSCC Pictou Campus. Currently\, Sam is finishing her second year in the Business Administration program and will graduate in the Spring of 2023.
